The was held on Saturday 11 March 2017, 2 - 4pm Chertsey House, St Peter's Hospital

Dr Ian Beeton welcomed over 50 participants-including clinicians; patients and their family and friends.

Resuscitation skills and demonstration by Sister Karen Harris and Sister Pat Little.  Patients and family members had the opportunity to practice skills

Information was provided and discussionheld  about ICD’s - Dr Zhong Chen, a new consultant cardiologist and electrophysiologist at St. Peters Hospital. discussed the history of ICDs and managing shock and treatment.

There was a discussion about remote monitoring of ICDs  - Ian Clement from Biotronik UK showed  examples of monitors to members including web-based data transmitted to cardio messenger.

A discussion took place about what happens after a shock, and how we help patients with ICDs, and their families at the end of life  led by  Dr Ian Beeton supported by Krissie and Celso, cardiac physiologists at St. Peters Hospital

Dr Beeton answered variety of questions from patients and family members.

Dr Beeton thanked the volunteers who did a great job of making everyone feel welcome and for providing refreshments. He appreciated everyone giving up their time to share their experiences. He also thanked ICD patients, families and friends.
